- Job DescriptionA Buffing Operator performs the process of removing the grain on the leather by abrasion. More particularly he/ she removes the flesh side of the leather by mechanical abrasion to produce a suede effect, or to reduce the substance. The process is also known as "snuffing", if removal is on the grain side of the leather. The aim of the buffing/ snuffing operation is to improve the uniformity of the grain appearance.
