The individual is able toperform different welding methods such as Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW)etc. The learner operates various tools, shop floor outfits and machines used in the production process like Lathe machine, Milling machine, Grinding machine and Drilling machine.The learner is able to apply the basic principle and operating techniques behind important NDT methods. He/she is able to perform different types of heat treatment processes like hardening, normalising, stress relieving etc.
Fuses metal parts together using welding rod and oxy-acetylene flame or arc-welding power source and electrodes etc. or sets up and operates resistance welding machine to join metal parts according to blueprints, work orders or oral instructions. Examines parts to be welded, cleans portion to be joined, holds them together by some suitable device. Selects correct type and size of welding rod, nozzle etc. and tests welding torch. Releases and regulates valves of oxygen and acetylene cylinders to control their flow into torch, ignites torch and regulates flame gradually. Guides flame along joint and heat it to melting point, simultaneously melting welding rod and spreading molten metal along joint shape, size etc. and rectifies defects if any.
The individual is able to manufacture the metallic parts & composite parts with compliance of manufacturer reference publication. He/she is able to identify & check assembly operations and makes touch-ups, adjustments; removes corrosion using standard procedures; masters the different mechanical locking and sealing techniques; manages and uses Ground Support Equipment to perform a leak test etc.
A trainee attending the course on ‘Arc & Gas Welder’ fuses metal parts together using oxygen acetylene flame. The trainee joins metal parts together using gas brazing. The trainee also fuses metals using Arc welding.
Architectural Draughtsman draws to scale drawings of buildings, parks, gardens, monuments etc. from approved sketches, designs or data for construction. Studies notes, sketches and other engineering data of buildings, parks, gardens, monuments, etc. to be constructed
The individual will be able to design craft intricate 3D designs to create from scratch, built from pre-drawn vector artwork or assembled from imported triangle or surface models. etc. The learner should able to prepare designs for a variety of precision manufacturing methods from routing wood, creating molds or press tools, laser cutting, engraving hard-wearing metals for production lines or simply nesting designs to achieve the minimum amount of material waste.
The incumbent in the job is primarily involved in all manual metal arc welding (MMAW) and gas cutting operations performed on carbon and low alloy steels. They support the welder in activities such as inspection of equipment condition, welding, testing and inspection of welded work pieces.
Perform these above mentioned operations as per instructions given. The correct equipment- raw materials and consumables will be provided and the candidate must know how to use the same in a safe manner following practices that ensure safety for self- others and the work environment and and assess weld quality through visual inspection.
Perform manual oxy-fuel cutting for a range of standard cutting job requirements using oxy-fuel gas. This is for a skilled cutter who can cut carbon steels in the basic positions.
Perform manual TIG (GTAW) welding for a range of standard welding job requirements. This is for a skilled welder who can weld different materials (carbon steel- low alloy steel) in various positions and prepare various joints including corner- fillet and tee. It also involves set-up and preparation of the equipment and materials provided for operations and interpreting the right information from the WPS.
